About Me

Phyllis

My name is Phyllis, and I am the author of Growing Roses in the North. For the last 34 years I have lived in northwest Wisconsin, moving with my family from a warmer climate in 1976. We built a log home in the woods, in deep valley which shades out the yard for much of the day. Needless to say, this was not an ideal enviroment for me to grow my favorite flowers and roses. But the difficult growing conditions taught me a great deal about what works and doesn't work when growing roses. If I can grow beautiful roses in these conditions, anyone can.

Growing Roses in the North is a labor of love for me. With it I hope to pass on some of the things I have learned over the years to other gardeners who might benefit for my knowledge. I'm also hoping to hear from other gardeners who can help me increase my knowledge as well. So if you have questions or comments, feel free to contact me, and enjoy the site!
